Chief Justice Thomas??

Last week the United States Supreme Court voted to take on the case involving the state of Mississippi's challenge to the landmark decision 1973 decision that legalized abortion in all 50 states which stunned the media and the liberal elite and begged the question, "What will be the future of abortion in America??"

Though, the bigger test of this case is the growing influence of Associate Justice Clarence Thomas because with the court being 6-3 conservative to liberal, the swing vote Chief Justice John Roberts is increasingly siding with the liberal wing of the party causing Thomas to be given the responsibility of assigning Justices opinions which helps provide the court's rationale behind there decision and sets precedent for future cases relating to that issue. And due to Thomas's extreme rightward tendencies, the chances of a more partisan opinion will be greater. And this in turn has gained Thomas many chief allies within the court as many view him as the eldest conservative mind of the court. And this has resulted in many  Thomas- approved rulings to be upheld while rulings that Thomas hasn't agreed with have been overturned or have been subject to speculation regarding its merit and constitutionality.

One specific case is New York vs. Sullivan where the Supreme Court ruled that the New York Times was well within its right to publicly criticize  L.B. Sullivan, a police commissioner from New York and that  L.B. Sullivan couldn't stop the times from publishing that content. But Thomas disagreed with this decision and claimed that the first amendment," required public figures to establish actual malice bears no relation to the text, history or structure of the Constitution.” And has claimed that he will use this interpretation to go after the media and with his influence on other Justices like Gorsuch he can have the votes to have another case heard regarding this issue. And this is one of many issues that Thomas has seen an increase in influence. And if Thomas has his way he will make abortion illegal nationwide with no statewide exceptions, a total reversal of Roe v. Wade.

Overall, Clarence Thomas's influence on the Court is far greater than some may realize but Thomas will change America one court case at a time. And that is really scary.
